Hello, I'm David Nipper
I’m a fourth-generation Central Valley farmer raising table grapes in Parlier with my wife. Farming has taught me responsibility, long-term thinking, and the importance of keeping my word.
I’m a 4.0 college student and a graduate of Henry M. Gunn High School, where I also earned a 4.0 GPA. Experiencing high academic standards firsthand shaped my belief in disciplined classrooms and real preparation for life after graduation. At Reedley College, I served as a student representative on a hiring committee, helping evaluate faculty.
Since 2009, I’ve helped lead my family’s sober living organization, Peace House, overseeing volunteer-run homes and supporting individuals rebuilding their lives. I’ve also worked to promote transparency and strengthen local decision-making in our communities.
My Story
A few years ago, as my wife and I were planning our future together, life changed unexpectedly. Shortly after our engagement, she developed serious complications from long COVID and eventually became too sick to work.
Instead of beginning married life the way most couples imagine, I found myself balancing the farm with caring daily for the person I love most. It wasn’t the path we planned — but it clarified what matters most.
We moved to Parlier to help continue her family’s farm as the fourth generation working the land. Inside the farmhouse were photographs and handwritten ledgers from 1924, kept by Finnish immigrants who first settled along the Kings River.
Those records reflected a simple truth: small farming has never been about wealth. It’s about family, community, and earning trust over time.
During one of the hardest seasons of my life, I experienced the strength of this community firsthand. That season deepened my belief that strong communities don’t happen by accident — they are built intentionally.
That is why I’m running for school board.
I believe schools are foundational to the future of our families and our Valley. Education shapes opportunity, strengthens communities, and prepares the next generation to succeed.
I’m running to refocus Kings Canyon Unified on academic excellence, safe classrooms, parental transparency, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
This isn’t about politics.
It’s about stewardship — of families, community, and the next generation.
Back to Basics. Back to Excellence.
